# Prerequisites

Before installing **ChatCalculator**, make sure your computer meets the following requirements:

* **Minecraft: Java Edition 26.2** — ChatCalculator is made specifically for Minecraft 26.2.
* **Microsoft account** — A Microsoft account with Minecraft: Java Edition purchased and available is required to play Minecraft on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
* **Operating system** — Windows 10 64-bit or newer, macOS 12 or newer, or a 64-bit Linux distribution.
* **RAM** — At least **8 GB of system RAM with a dedicated GPU**, or **12 GB with integrated graphics**. **16 GB** is recommended for a smoother experience.
* **Storage** — At least **2 GB of free storage** for Minecraft Java Edition, with **4 GB recommended**. Additional space may be required for Fabric, mods, worlds, and other game files.
* **Java 25** — Minecraft 26.2 requires **Java 25**. The official Minecraft Launcher includes the required Java runtime, while third-party launchers may require you to configure Java separately.
* **Fabric Loader and Fabric API** — ChatCalculator requires the **Fabric** mod loader and **Fabric API**.

ChatCalculator is a **Fabric mod for Minecraft: Java Edition**. It does not work with Minecraft Bedrock Edition or other mod loaders such as Forge or NeoForge.
